ESW GmbH, located in Wedel (near Hamburg, Germany) is a company with more than 45 years of experience in developing, manufacturing and implementing technologically demanding, innovative products and services for commercial and defense technologies.

ESW is part of the Defense & Civil Systems division and provides a wide range of technical solutions customized to the customers’ demands. The range extends from weapon stabilization for military vehicles to diesel electrical auxiliary power supply for trolley buses to radomes for military jets.

ESW maintains vast, modern manufacturing and service facilities at their main location in Wedel as well as development and manufacturing facilities for generators, motors and blowers in its subsidiary in Essen.

ESW GmbH | Sensor-Systems

Until 31. August 2009 the Sensor Systems business unit has been part of the JENOPTIK Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH, a company of the Jenoptik division Optical Systems, located in Jena, Germany. In the course of the reorganization of Jenoptik along its current five distinct business divisions, the Sensor Systems business field has been completely merged into the ESW GmbH.

Lechmotoren GmbH, Altenstadt

The company was founded in 1947 as a factory for AC motors. Nowadays, Lechmotoren is a much sought-after partner in all areas of power supply and special electrical engineering. The company, a 100% subsidiary of ESW, is distinguished by quality, economic efficiency and customer orientation.

Electroop SA, Spain

This 75% holding of ESW operates in the areas of production and maintenance for electrical drive systems in armored vehicles, and works on night-vision devices and other optical equipment. Electroop SA is also involved in production of the Leopard tank for the Spanish army.


In addition to this, there is a 25% stake in Martec Marine & Technologies in Milan.
