Chromatic white light sensor - Measuring with light
The sensor uses the chromatic longitudinal aberration of a special lens. Owing to the independence of the measurement principle from the surface properties of the measuring samples such as reflectivity, colour and texture, a wide variety of different materials can be measured.
The coaxial measurement principle is insensitive to shadowing so that structures with large aspect ratios can also be measured. The compact measuring head operates without moving parts.
The sensor is particularly suitable for topography measurement due to the highly effective measuring rate. The measuring range is determined by selection of the appropriate sensor head.
