The handheld thermal imagers of the VarioVIEW® series combine a high resolution infrared detector with an laser rangefinder operating at an invisible wavelength into an powerful surveillance system.
Based on a thermal infrared detector, VarioVIEW® is able to detect persons and objects even in absolute darkness - a great benefit compared to night vision devices based on image intensifier technology.
Easy and ergonomic operation recommend the compact and robust device as equipment for border guards, police officers, special forces staff, security and emergency & rescue services.
Excellent detection rates of the thermal imagers are warranted by a high resolution microbolometer focal plane array (FPA) with 640 x 480 pixel resolution. VarioVIEW 150 reliable detects persons in a distance of up to 5,000 meters. The IR detector requires no cooling and thus provides long battery operating times and prevents acoustic detection.
Information about the target's moving direction gives an integrated eyesafe laser rangefinder with fast measuring rates. The long range laser rangefinder of the DLEM series cannot be detected by night vision devices based on image intensifiers.
VarioVIEW thermal imagers are available in different configurations with infrared optics for special applications. The VarioVIEW 150 model with 150 mm IR optics is optimized for longs distance surveillance while the VarioVIEW 75 model with 75 mm optics is ideally suited for surveillance of wide areas.
The "basic" models are pure thermal imagers without laser rangefinding capability.
