MEMS and CMOS

CMOS stands for complementary metal oxide semiconductor technology. Complementary metal oxide transistors are used in the production of microchips. CMOS chips use relatively little energy and allow for a higher level of integration.
MEMS stands for microelectromechanical systems or, put more simply, micromachines. Microelectronic manufacturing technology and processes are used in combination with mechanical elements. MEMS products find applications in telecommunications, optoelectronics and in medicinal technology.
