By means of the laser edge deletion process layers can be removed from thin-film solar modules prior to lamination efficiently and on a high quality level. The laser systems of the JENOPTIK-VOTAN™ Solas 400 series have been developed particularly for said layer removal processes.
In order to fulfill the requirements, their compact, space-saving system concept is modular so as to enable easy line integration. Multiple uses can be individualized with the laser system in a cycle time-neutral manner.
Semitransparent thin-film solar modules can fulfill functions of the building envelope when integrated in the same (BIPV = building-integrated photovoltaics). In addition to power generation, BIPV modules can also constitute parts of the building envelope (roof cladding, façade cladding, glass surfaces), shading elements or architectural auxiliary elements (canopies, balcony balustrades).
The laser system JENOPTIK-VOTAN™ Solas 600 has been designed for the production of semitransparent thin-film solar modules. Prior to module composition, the JENOPTIK-VOTAN™ Solas 600 removes certain areas of the active layer by means of selective laser deletion. Both transparency and removal pattern are freely selectable.
