A thin-film solar module consists of several very thin layers into which structuring lines are incorporated in a highly precise manner using lasers or mechanical scribing tools. The machine series JENOPTIK-VOTAN™ Solas 100/200 optimized for maximum precision performs said structuring processes for all thin-film technologies.
Machine solutions are available for CIS/CIGS/CIGSSe, a-Si/µc-Si and CdTe modules for all structuring steps (P1, P2 and P3), the machine configurations being adaptable to laboratory, pilot or volume production conditions.
The JENOPTIK-VOTAN™ Compact 500 is an R&D system making thin-film solar module structuring processes available to thin-film solar module manufacturers, development laboratories and institutes on a production level in the development phase.
The JENOPTIK-VOTAN™ Compact 500 can be configured for CIS/CIGS/CIGSSe, a-Si/µc-Si and CdTe technologies and all structuring steps (P1, P2 und P3). In this way, structuring processes can be optimized or further developed respectively.

The appropriate lasers and mechanical tools for P1, P2, P3 and P4 structuring and functionality for laser edge deletion are integrated into one machine concept. The process is carried out after automatic alignment from the glass side as well as from the layer side.
A simple upgrade of the JENOPTIK - VOTAN™ Solas Multi to a mass production machine for P1 or P2 or P3 or P4 structuring is possible.
