It was in 1994 that the idea of creating and marketing digital imaging software first came up at dhs Dietermann & Heuser GmbH, a software developer founded in 1980. It was a logical step: the headquarters was only a few kilometres from the city of Wetzlar, a driving force in precision engineering and optics and a source of many business contacts.

Following a flurry of development, the presentation of the first versions of the dhs Image Data Base and the establishment of partnerships with big-name distributors, dhs Dietermann & Heuser Solution GmbH was founded in late 1996. Its strategy was, and still is, to focus on its core product. The new company started out with six employees under the management of Mr. Christian Dietermann. Today, we have more than ten employees working at our highly accessible Greifenstein location in the heart of Germany.

The dhs Image Data Base quickly acquired a reputation throughout the world as a high-quality imaging software product. Initially an archiving programme, it gradually expanded into image acquisition, processing, analysis and documentation. The product is marketed in close cooperation with sales partners whose market leadership and core competencies have helped open up a wide range of different applications throughout the world.
