The Lübeck-based company Dräger Safety AG & Co. KGaA is to cooperate with Jenoptik’s Optical Systems division. Collaboration will focus on the development, production and supply of optoelectronic system solutions.

The photonics industry continues being in the ascendant at the leading trade fair in San Francisco with a marked increase in visitor and exhibitor numbers compared with 2011. Jenoptik reported significant demand from clients, particularly for lasers and laser systems for industrial and medical fields as well as for integrated optical solutions.

The Optical Systems division has strengthened its market position as a leading supplier of optical systems in the semiconductor and flat panel display equipment segment with an order from an Asian customer in the mid single-digit million-euro range.
