“Driver image” module
Following a speed limit violation for the designated section, an image of the driver can be captured 70 meters behind the exit portal to aid in the identification of the actual driver. In addition, an image of the rear of the vehicle can be taken to ensure the correct assignment of the evidence images.
“ILN loop system” module
This sensor collects the data required to classify vehicles using induction loops buried in the ground together with the appropriate connected detectors (ILN – Intelligent Loop Node).
“Classification” module
The “Classification” module expands the camera system with a vehicle classification sensor. This currently involves a choice between a non-invasive laser scanner system or an invasive ILN system.
“Laser scanner system” module
This system detects the 3D contours of the vehicle as it passes and uses them to distinguish between up to eleven different vehicle classes. The system can operate in daylight or at night since it uses invisible laser beams. No additional interference with the road surface is required.
“Variable Message Sign (VMS) system” module
If the basic system is complemented by a “Variable Message Sign” system module, display-related speed limits can be fed into the TraffiSection system via the interface to a VMS system. In addition, the VMS display systems are filmed using digital cameras to document the speed violations and appended to the incident-related individual images of the violation data set.
