The DC/DC converter is a bi-directional and isolated DC converter. It serves as battery charging converter and provides the initial power for the starter-generator.

The DC/DC converter is linked between the high voltage DC bus (600V-750V) and the 28V network of the vehicle to provide 28 VDC to the different vehicle consumers. It is galvanically isolated and provides a maximum power of 18 kW at 28 VDC.
In generator mode it acts as a step down converter from 600-750V to 28V to supply the 28 VDC link and for recharging the batteries. In starter mode it acts as a step up converter from 28V to 240V to supply energy from 28V batteries to the starter generator system to start the engine.
The electronic is equipped with military connectors and complies with MIL-STD 461E and MIL-STD 1275B.
