­The new HOMMEL-ETAMIC IPS100 internal test sensor, with a 360 degree panoramic view, provides for automatic inspection of bore internal surfaces. It checks for and identifies faults such as scratches, cavities or porosities in cylindrical bores.

It operates on a fully automated basis - from measurement through to display of the surface geometry. Thanks to the innovative 360° panoramic lens which comes from the Jenoptik Optical Systems division, plus a new and more efficient CMOS image sensor technology, the IPS100 performs readings at high speed and maximum precision.

The scan rate of the lens unit is 10kHz, in other words 10,000 images per second, displaying any unevenness at a resolution of 2,800 pixels.
