Successful launch of JENOPTIK AG on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on June 16, 1998.
45.30 DM was the opening price of the Jenoptik share in Frankfurt. It was 33 percent higher than the issue price of DM 34. Dealers described it as a successful new issue and were very busy. 1.18 million shares of Jenoptik were traded on the first day alone, this was higher than the trading volume of Deutsche Telekom and Daimler Benz. In addition, the price remained firm.
JENOPTIK AG's initial public offering is the largest issue of an East German company. For the first time, the development of a company from an ailing Kombinat (state-owned company) into a company that is listed on the stock exchange was successfully completed.
