Road safety is an international requirement. The death toll on the roads around the world amounts to more than 1.3 million every year and therefore steps designed to improve the situation are urgently needed. Traffic surveillance numbers among the measures that demonstratively reduce the accident figures.
The road safety division develops, produces, sells and operates as a leading provider components and systems for mobile and stationary speed and red light surveillance. By embarking on Traffic Service Providing, the division has been covering the entire process chain in traffic safety technology since 2006 – ranging from system development, production and installation of the surveillance infrastructure, including recording of the surveillance images, their automatic further processing and extending to sending the fine notifications and collection of the fines as the operator of the units.
Furthermore, special applications and components, such as those for recording licence numbers, round off the comprehensive systems and services relating to safe road traffic.The division, which is present in more than 60 countries is by far the world leader in the field of photographic traffic surveillance and dates back to the company founded in 1933, now JENOPTIK Robot GmbH, with its head office in Monheim near Düsseldorf.

(Monheim/Jena) This week the Traffic Solutions division will be exhibiting for the first time under the Jenoptik brand at the most important headline trade fair for the traffic sector, Intertraffic in Amsterdam. In addition to the latest systems covering every aspect of traffic safety, the Optical Systems division will also be presenting LED lighting concepts.
