HOMMEL-ETAMIC roundscan
Various form and roughness parameters are to be determined on gearshafts and control gears. The tolerances are very close, especially at the seats. The surface parameters must be measured partially in an axial and partially in a radial direction. The Hommel roundscan is able to measure all relevant characteristics on the shafts and gears by an automated process that requires no probe arm change.
The measurement is taken using a HOMMEL roundscan with high-resolution axes. The C-axis enables up to 120,000 points per measurement to be recorded. Surface parameters can then be also be evaluated in a circumferential direction. Production-related applications can make use of a specially matched air damping system, which minimizes external influences on the measurement. In hollow shafts, all form and surface parameters, including internal parameters, can be determined at a depth of down to 250 mm. The special benefit to the customer is the timesaving of up to 70%. The workpiece is already clamped in and aligned for the high-precision form measurement. Only a few more seconds are required to determine the other surface parameters. There is no reclamping or realigning whatsoever on a special roughness measuring station. The operator receives all the required results after a full CNC sequence.
Measured parameters:
Roundness, run-out, Rzmax radial and axial, Ptmax, bearing ratio
