The Heating Control Unit (HCU) controls and monitors the electrical heating elements for water lines, floor panels, fittings and associated equipment for aircrafts.

Depending on cabin layout requirements, the functionality can be adapted using a configuration module (data unit), that stores all necessary parameters for heating in a non volatile memory. The connection between data unit and HCU allows local maintenance and easy replacement of the HCU. The configuration of each cabin
layout and maintenance purposes that requires different heating parameters can be implemented with above mentioned data unit, if necessary.
The HCU is fitted with an arc fault detection module, which monitors permanently the electrical wiring of the connected heaters. This technology identifies damaged insulation of the wiring and prevents hazardous effects due to electrical arcs.
Optionally, the HCU can be connected to a temperature setting panel which indicates and selects the temperature for the related heater. Furthermore the HCU can be connected to the cabin communication and aircraft maintenance system by CAN Bus, ARINC 429 or RS232 interfaces.
