The basic concept of the liquid crystal variable phase modulator PLM is the utilization of the electrically controlled birefringence of a nematic liquid crystal layer.
When the applied electric field exceeds a threshold, the liquid crystal is deformed from its initial stable alignment resulting in a phase shift between ordinary and extraordinary polarized light part of the passing light wave. The phase modulation is achieved with this birefringence associated phase change.

The ProgRes® C14plus delivers images up to a resolution of 12.5 mega pixel using the proven Microscanning technology. Additionally, the patented Color-Co-Site-Sampling takes exact color information of your specimen in each of the three color channels for true color images without interpolation - hence providing measured image data.
