Jenoptik promotes photonics competition

SPIE Photonics West Startup Challenge

SPIE Photonics West Startup Challenge

As a founding Partner of the SPIE Startup Challenge Jenoptik has been supporting this corporate competition for many years. Startups with ideas on the basis of optical technologies qualify annually for the SPIE Photonics West competition.

Cellino secured first place in 2017. The Harvard University team presented nano-components for cell therapies, which are intended to heal viral or genetic diseases affecting the blood.

As the main sponsor, Jenoptik supports the corporate competition held by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, with their expertise and prize money of 10,000, 5,000 and 2,500 US dollars for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Student Optical Design Challenge

Initiation of the Student Optical Design Challenge for virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, initiated the Student Optical Design Challenge for virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality for the SPIE Photonics Europe 2018 trade fair in Strasburg.

Similar to the Startup Challenge, students had the opportunity to present their ideas for "display products of tomorrow" in a pitch at the SPIE Photonics West in San Francisco.

Nine students won prizes for their photonic ideas at the trade fair. Jenoptik supported the SPIE initiative with expertise and prize money of 10,000 US dollars.
