New flexible Hommel-Etamic AG380 snap gauge
In Stuttgart, the Jenoptik Automotive division once again presents its broad portfolio of optical, tactile, and pneumatic metrology at the AMB 2016 trade fair. For the first time, the Hommel-Etamic AG380 snap gauge from the proven GAGELINE product line will be presented for the field of pneumatic metrology. Pneumatic snap gauges are used in dimensional industrial production metrology to reliably measure shafts with strict tolerances. Pneumatic metrology is able to deliver reliable measurement results with a high level of precision and repetitive accuracy for years, particularly in a rough production environment.
Whereas customers previously had to constantly invest in new diameter-specific pneumatic snap gauges when producing a new type of workpiece, the Hommel-Etamic AG380 snap gauge from Jenoptik can be quickly, cost-effectively, and flexibly adapted to different diameters (from Ø 17-48 mm), providing measurements with the familiar level of precision.
The flexible snap gauge is therefore ideal both for small-scale and prototype production as well as mass production. Thanks to its new fast-machining system, for the first time, the AG380 can be effortlessly positioned and installed at the desired measuring stations. A retrofit kit that makes it possible to easily convert any existing measuring system is also available as an option. The Hommel-Etamic AG380 will be available from fall 2016.
New measuring and evaluation software: Hommel-Etamic TOLARIS optic
With its proven OPTICLINE product range, the Jenoptik Automotive division is the market leader in this sector. Jenoptik already presented its new generation of the Hommel-Etamic C-series from the OPTICLINE range last year, a machine that boasts improved performance data, an enhanced range of functions and simplified machine controls, among other benefits. This time round, it’s the turn of the new software.
The user interface is very clear and user-friendly. Toolbars, for instance, automatically adapt to the user’s current requirements. By offering this functionality, the new TOLARIS optic software allows even inexperienced users to create test plans in an intuitive and therefore quick and comprehensible process. An integrated wizard for creating test plans and test characteristics as well as an import function for CAD (dxf and dfd) are now also included in the software.
Other highlights of the software include:
- Live mode: the fastest combination of processes to create a test plan and determine results. The immediate visual and metrological feedback makes it easy to create even complex test characteristics and avoids errors.
- An improved analysis function: Clearly documented results and detailed displays reduce the measuring and analysis time. This increases efficiency and saves resources.
- Steps to scan and map contours in various angular positions and provide a multi-image display of value charts can now be completed very quickly.
The new software will be available from January 2017.
Combined roughness and contour measurement in a single process
The Hommel-Etamic surfscan from the WAVELINE product line is the universal roughness and contour measuring system for quality control. The roughness and contours of a workpiece can be measured in a single run with the optomechanical probing system. This accelerates the measurement run with consistently high quality. To complement this system, Jenoptik is presenting its new, optimized Hommel-Etamic EVOVIS 2.0 software at AMB 2016. With key features for CNC-controlled program sequences, the range of available functions has been expanded and the user controls made even simpler. The measurement results are presented by the evaluation software via a standard interface for the roughness and contour measurement. Simple pictograms, supported by comprehensive help functions, allow the user to use the efficient measurement and evaluation tools according to their own needs.
Live demonstrations will be held at the Jenoptik trade stand in Hall 1, Stand E81.
Presentation of additional measuring systems for roughness measurement and form measurement
With the Hommel-Etamic F455 FORMLINE form measuring instrument, the roundness, cylindricity, and evenness of workpieces can be precisely measured. The measuring system aligns the components automatically and checks the form and position tolerances using three CNC-controlled measuring axes. This means less work than with conventional equipment. As an option, the roughness, waviness and twist can also be measured.
Jenoptik will also present versatile measuring systems at the trade fair, including the mobile, wireless W5, W10 and W20 WAVELINE measuring systems. These robust and high-precision solutions even provide absolutely precise results in environments close to production. They employ wireless Bluetooth® technology for an unlimited range applications and an integrated or optional printer for immediate printing of the measuring results depending on the model.
