Further major order for Patriot components
Jenoptik again supplies components for the Patriot integrated air and missile defense system.
The order for the Defense & Civil Systems segment has a value of more than 30 million US dollars (about 27 million euros). Besides electrical generators, Jenoptik will also be providing spare parts packages and test equipment for operating the systems over several years.
As a long-term supplier for the system, the technology group already announced the receipt of Patriot orders back in August and September 2016. The orders will contribute to the result of the Defense & Civil Systems segment between 2016 and 2018. This segment generated revenue of 111 million euros in the first half of 2016. Jenoptik develops and produces the power supply units and further sub-systems for Patriot in Germany at its Altenstadt site (Bavaria).
Patriot is a ground-supported medium-range anti-aircraft missile system and is used to repel aircraft, tactical ballistic missiles and cruise missiles.
Jenoptik will publish its financial figures for the first nine months of 2016 on November 10, 2016.
