AMB 2018: Jenoptik presents new automated Opticline shaft measuring system
Jenoptik will exhibit its broad industrial metrology portfolio at the AMB 2018 trade fair — the international exhibition for metal working — on September 18–22, 2018, in Hall 7, Stand A33.
In Stuttgart, Jenoptik will present a number of new products, demonstrating its expertise in optical, pneumatic and tactile metrology. Regardless of the measuring method, Jenoptik offers its customers innovative solutions for various areas of application in metal working, automotive manufacturing and medical technology.
Live demonstrations will be held at the Jenoptik trade fair stand in Hall 7, Stand A33.

Opticline — optical shaft measuring devices: focus on robots
This year, Jenoptik will also present one of the highlights of its Opticline product series for efficient process automation: a new handling robot with workpiece storage in combination with the efficient Opticline C305 shaft measuring system. This compact unit was designed and created by Jenoptik in collaboration with Erler GmbH from Dormettingen, and Viktor Hegedüs GmbH from Wehingen.
The combination of optical shaft measuring technology and automated robot loading allows split-second inspection of numerous test characteristics. In addition, key staff resources can be spared and possible operating errors avoided. The customer can therefore focus more closely on quality and process control. The time of the random quality control is over — increasing the test intervals can allow for up to 100 percent control, significantly increasing product safety in the production process. Process costs are optimized and reliability as a qualified supplier is significantly increased.
Detecting the smallest imperfections in bores within the required cycle time
With the Visionline IPS B5 surface inspection system, even the smallest bores can now be inspected (from 5 mm). The innovative camera and lighting technology, as well as adaptive, dynamic masking and a high resolution allow for the automated full inspection of interior surfaces within the line cycle time. The measuring system enables fast inspection of the entire inner bore surface, the inspection and measuring of the inner contours and the evaluation of defects. The sensors' 360° lens creates an image of the entire bore surface. This means the fast and robust sensor fulfills all requirements for full product quality inspections in a concatenated installation in a production line.
New generation of roughness and contour metrology: Waveline W800
The new generation of roughness and contour measuring devices in the Waveline product line was designed to meet customer requirements with regard to flexible, rapid and precise measuring processes. The measuring stations are modular and can be expanded at any time. The W800 model series is particularly suited to many different measuring tasks in the measuring room, as the models typically include manual or semi-automated measuring processes.
One special feature of the W800 is the ease with which the probing systems can be swapped via a new quick-change adapter. This lends a very high degree of flexibility to daily routine measurements. The W800 model series covers different performance requirements and offers a suitable probing system for every field of application.
