28th New Year's Reception of JENOPTIK AG

At the start of the 2019 fiscal year, Jenoptik welcomed around 500 guests to this year’s New Year’s reception in Jena. The guests have already donated around 8,000 euros to the Arche in Berlin.

On January 29, 2019 Jenoptik invited to the 28th New Year's reception in the Jena Volkshaus. The approximately 500 guests included numerous employees of the group, members of the Supervisory Board and the Group Works Council as well as customers and partners from business, science and culture. Jenoptik Executive Board members Stefan Traeger and Hans-Dieter Schumacher welcomed Thuringian Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow, Economics Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee and Environment Minister Anja Siegesmund on behalf of the State of Thuringia as the main shareholder. The Lord Mayor Thomas Nitzsche was present as representative of the city of Jena.

After a drum show with light effects, Stefan Traeger reported at the beginning on the strategic further development of the Jenoptik Group, which was initiated last year under the motto “More Light”. “Jenoptik is focusing more strongly on optical and photonic technologies because this is precisely our core competence”, said Traeger. “The world is changing at the speed of light and we will all change with it. Let’s experience ‘The Power of Light’.”

Light was the defining motif of the reception moderated by Aline Thielmann, not least due to multi-colored light effects in the Jena Volkshaus and a large-area illumination of the Ernst Abbe high-rise opposite. The artistic setting also relied on light: The illuminated LED drums of the “Drum Stars” set the motto of the evening in a particularly powerful and impressive way.

Donation campaign for Arche in Berlin

Jenoptik once again used the New Year’s reception as an opportunity to ask the guests for a donation for a charitable purpose. This year, the donations will benefit the Arche in Berlin-Treptow, which cares for 50 to 60 children in the immediate vicinity of the Jenoptik location in Berlin, for example with meals, homework assistance and leisure activities.

At the reception, Marcel Brettschneider from Arche was delighted with the donation of 8,090 euros for the evening. Many thanks to all donors!
