Jenoptik traction alternators reliably and efficiently supply energy to traction motors in railway vehicles. Our highly efficient alternators convert mechanical energy into electrical energy in the smallest of spaces, delivering exceptional power to motors in diesel-electric locomotives, rail cars, and traction vehicles.

Jenoptik offers separately excited and permanent magnet excited alternators that can be precisely tailored to your project-specific requirements so that they can be easily integrated into your existing system. We also design and configure alternators according to your   application. Our alternators are optionally cooled with air, water, water-glycol, or oil. They are available in a single or double bearing design and can be supplied with or without brushes.

All traction alternators can be combined with a rectifier or converter unit. You can use an output power of up to 3000 kW and choose between an output voltage of up to 3600 V DC or 2700 V AC. With fire protection certification in accordance with EN 45545, the alternator can be fully integrated into your system.
