Jenoptik introduced the first distracted driver program and is one of the first to provide a system to detect noise anomalies, e.g. sound disturbances caused by cars. Thanks to our sensor fusion technologies, artificial intelligence and deep learning capabilities, we are set for the future, improving the safety and quality of life of your communities.

Sensor Fusion

With sensor fusion, we combine and merge different sensor signals into an overall picture. In this way, you have the opportunity to enforce traffic rules reliably which have not been able to be detected previously.

Noise Detection System

Excessive Noise

Noise is considered an underestimated threat with short term and long term effects on health. Especially in urban environments, it interferes with the daily life of the general public, e.g. at schools, work, home or while being on the street.

Some vehicle owners, however, enjoy their cars being loud and change or manipulate the standard exhaust system accordingly. Next to health problems, it can also have a negative impact on emissions and sustainability. To identify those drivers on public roads, Jenoptik presents its noise detection system.

Noise Detection System

Our noise detection system consists out of a VECTOR camera paired with a sound detection panel. The data from the sound detection panel is automatically processed and works in conjunction with the automatic number plate recognition camera. Once a predefined decibel level is hit or noise anomaly registered, authorities can be alerted automatically. The sound is tracked reliably to its source.

If, for example, the noise is caused by a loud exhaust, the vehicle can be reliably identified thanks to the ANPR camera VECTOR. A ticket can then be issued, or the authorities informed so they can inspect the car and check whether it is up to code.

This particulary dangerous driver behaviour has been an ever increasing issue during the past years and governments all over the world search for solutions to tackle this problem.
