Jenoptik posts a 15.8 percent growth in sales of to EUR 256.3 million euros in the first half of the year 2011. In the first half of the year, the order intake was also higher than in the previous year. The Laser & Optical Systems and Metrology segments in particular achieved high rates of increase both in sales as well as earnings.

The good economic climate continued during the first three months of 2011. The semiconductor industry and the automotive market, key sectors of Jenoptik, continued their positive development. The growth in sales of 16.5 percent to 124.5 million euros was attributable to the Laser & Optical Systems and Metrology segments.

Due to a challenging economic and political environment, group revenue of EUR 420.1 million were slightly below the prior year. Nevertheless, Asia showed a significant growth. The medical technology sector is also still in the positive trend. After nine months there was also a good order situation, which clearly exceeded the prior year figure.
