The Jenoptik Group will be presenting the highlights of its comprehensive metrology portfolio at the Control trade fair in Stuttgart from May 6 to 9, 2025, together with its affiliated brands HOMMEL ETAMIC, TRIOPTICS, and SwissOptic, at booth 3501 in hall 3 on 168 square meters.

Here is a preview of the latest developments in industrial metrology and surface inspection. Images are available in the Jenoptik image database through this direct link.

Opticline C series: Triple-scaled technology platform for optical shaft metrology

Jenoptik has optimized the optical shaft measuring technology of its Opticline C series technology platform. The C series offers triple scaling: larger workpiece dimensions, expanded multisensor technology, and enhanced automation capabilities. The scaled platform of the Opticline C-Series measures rotationally symmetrical workpieces up to 1,200 millimeters in length, with a diameter of up to 230 millimeters and a weight of up to 60 kilograms. The enhanced T3D multi-sensor technology tactilely inspects features that cannot be detected optically – such as gears, grooves, holes, profiles and contours. The range of automation options extends from manual spot checks to fully automated 100% inline inspection.

Opticline CS series: Extended measuring capacity for turned and ground parts

The entry-level devices in the Opticline CS series of optical shaft measurement technology are getting a new addition. The new Opticline CS900 measures rotationally symmetrical workpieces with a length of up to 900 millimeters. This expands the range of applications for turned and ground parts that can be measured with Jenoptik's standardized optical shaft measuring system technology to include commercial and industrial vehicles, the maritime industry, aerospace, and energy generation. The fast, robust, and flexible quality assurance provided by the CS series is particularly suitable for customers who want to enter the world of optical shaft measurement technology in a cost-efficient manner.

Otto Vision: Fully automated random sample inspection, testing, and sorting with PSS-40 LCLW and FLEX-3A

One of Otto Vision’s product highlights is the PSS-40 LCLW testing and sorting station with laser cutting and laser welding, which is a further development of the PSS-40 testing station, already established on the market in hundreds of units. A fully automated laser cutting, and laser welding process replaces the manual or semi-automatic process of mechanical cutting and subsequent joining of the carrier strip.

FLEX-3A, a 3D strip light scanner for the analysis of initial samples and prototypes as well as automated random sample inspection in the production area. The measuring system is specially designed for the high-precision and automated inspection of small parts.

TRIOPTICS: Optical measurement, testing, and manufacturing technology

TRIOPTICS’ extensive portfolio includes optical measurement, testing, and manufacturing technology for development, quality assurance, and production. TRIOPTICS supports mechanical engineering in the field of computer-aided and non-contact straightness measurement of guide rails and optical distance measurement. This is done either by the automatic autocollimation alignment telescope D-275, the electronic autocollimator TriAngle or purely visually using the OptiTest® product range. The µPhase® interferometer is particularly suitable for measuring surface shapes with high speed and precision. Detailed information on TRIOPTICS products will be available at Control in the form of a digital presentation.

HOMMEL ETAMIC: New solutions for Visionline, Formline, and Gageline

HOMMEL ETAMIC is launching a compact solution in its Visionline product line for inspecting visual surface defects such as pores, cavities, and scratches. A new tactile measuring device for shape and position as well as roughness and twist, Formline F900, replaces the “Roundscan” measuring station in the HOMMEL ETAMIC product portfolio. With the new “Gageline GD200” evaluation display, HOMMEL ETAMIC has developed a new component for dimensional measurement technology solutions. Information on all three devices and the new features can be found in the detailed press release from HOMMEL ETAMIC.

Our brands at Control

The shaft measurement technology in Jenoptik’s Opticline product line optically scans rotationally symmetrical workpieces. It measures the shafts without contact and is suitable for semi- or fully automated use, especially in the automotive industry, in the production of turned and ground parts, and in medical technology.

Otto Vision stands for high-end applications in industrial image processing. The Jenoptik division specializes in optical 2D and 3D inspection and test systems for inline inspection, surface inspection, and position detection, as well as for optical 3D production control.

Within the Jenoptik Group, the HOMMEL ETAMIC brand stands for a broad portfolio of products and solutions for industrial measurement technology for manufacturing processes. As a leading manufacturer and system supplier, HOMMEL ETAMIC offers high-precision measurement technologies for the pneumatic, tactile, or optical measurement of roughness, contour, shape, and dimensions, as well as the optical inspection of surfaces.

TRIOPTICS offers a comprehensive portfolio of optical measurement, testing, and manufacturing technology for development, quality assurance, and production worldwide. Its expertise ranges from testing individual optical components to the precise measurement of machine components. Our non-contact optical measuring devices enable extremely high accuracy with the simplest possible software-supported operation.

SwissOptic develops innovative optical measurement technologies and systems for leading providers in geodesy, photogrammetry, and industrial measurement.
